Massimo Maccarone

Former Italian international striker Massimo Maccarone will be Brisbane Roar 's marquee forward for the Hyundai A-League 2017/18 season. The former Middlesbrough English Premier League forward joins the Roar from Serie A side Empoli having played top flight football in Italy during the past two seasons. Maccarone becomes just the second player to come to the Hyundai A-League directly from the Serie A after Italy and Juventus legend Alessandro Del Piero. Brisbane’s squad is set to be bolstered by the Italians goal scoring ability and the invaluable experience he will bring to the Roar side. Maccarone, a product of the AC Milan Youth system arrives in Brisbane after an impressive club career in Europe that saw the Italian play over 500 matches, scoring almost 200 career goals, including 6 in the UEFA Europa League.
