The Young Roar has secured three points in Round 7 of the Foxtel National Youth League, beating Sydney FC Youth 3-2 in an entertaining encounter at Goodwin Park.

Devante Clut audaciously opened the scoring inside three minutes, catching Sydney ‘keeper Anthony Bouzanis off his line to score from 25 metres out.

The visitors fought back ten minutes later, tall defender Themba Muata-Marlow heading home a pinpoint corner from Anthony Tomelic to equalise.

Newly-renamed Roar coach John Sime’s second half substitutions proved significant with Samuel Sibatuara and Abrahim Yango both finding the back of the net in a two minute window.

Sibatuara tucked his 70th minute strike into the bottom left corner to give the home side the lead before Yango’s low drive from the left wing extended the Young Roar’s advantage.

Sydney substitute Charles Lokoi Ngoy’s tap-in with three minutes of regular time made for a nervy ending but Brisbane held on to take all three points.

Brisbane Roar 3 (Devante CLUT 3′, Samuel SIBATUARA 70′, Abrahim YANGO 72′)
Sydney FC 2 (Themba MUATA-MARLOW 14′, Charles LOKOI NGOY 87′)
