Brisbane Roar Youth return to Lanham Park tomorrow afternoon for a crucial Foxtel National Youth League clash with Melbourne City.
The Young Roar, who currently sit third in Conference A, will be looking to return to winning ways after a last-start defeat when they clash with an in-form City side.
Head Coach James Robinson says the Young Roar have put the defeat a fortnight ago against Adelaide United behind them and are now using it as a chance to improve.
“It’s part of the journey for us – to make sure we understand what’s required and what we need to do better,” Robinson said.
“We’ve gone back to training, looked at what we can improve on and can hopefully put that into play against Melbourne City.”
With the Foxtel NYL season now at its halfway point, both sides will be fighting hard for what could prove to be an invaluable three points.
Entry to Lanham Park for all Foxtel NYL matches is FREE!
The two sides are yet to play out a full 90-minute match this season after their season-opening clash in Melbourne was cut short due to severe weather with City being awarded the points.
The Young Roar have had their moments of brilliance in the opening four matches and will be looking to re-gather the form that saw them win back-to-back matches.
“We’re taking it one week at a time and focusing on the processes – that’s what it’s about for the young boys,” Robinson said.
The fixture is the Young Roar’s penultimate home fixture before the January 19 match-up against the Glory.
