Westfield W-League 2020/21 fixtures confirmed

It’s here! The Westfield W-League 2020/21 fixture is locked and loaded with your Roar Women set to get their campaign underway on December 28.

Jake Goodship’s squad will open their 2020/21 season on the road with a trip across the border to face the Newcastle Jets on Monday, 28 December (4pm KO QLD time).

The first home fixtures come in quick succession shortly after with back-to-back fixtures on home turf. The Roar face Perth Glory at Lions Stadium on Sunday, 3 January (5pm KO) before a mouth-watering clash with 2020 grand finalists Sydney FC at Dolphin Stadium on Thursday, 7 January (6pm KO).

The remaining four home fixtures are split evenly between Lions Stadium at Richlands and Redcliffe’s Dolphin Stadium.

Lions Stadium will host Western Sydney Wanderers on Sunday, 31 January (5pm KO) & Adelaide United on Friday, 12 February (8pm KO).

The final two home fixtures will both be played at Dolphin Stadium, up against Newcastle Jets on Thursday, 25 February (6pm KO) & a final round meeting against Canberra United on Thursday, 25 March (6pm KO).

Newcastle Jets, Perth Glory and Sydney FC are the three clubs which the Roar Women will face twice this campaign.

Women, fixture

FOX SPORTS will broadcast live a minimum of 27 Westfield W-League 2020/21 season matches and the entire Westfield 2021 Finals Series. ABC TV will broadcast live one match per round on Sunday afternoons (Sunday afternoon), as well as all matches of the Westfield W-League 2021 Finals Series live.

All matches of the Westfield W-League 2020/21 Season will also be streamed live on Kayo Sports (www.kayosports.com.au) and the My Football Live App.

“This year’s Westfield W-League is packed full of young, Australian talent as the players battle for places in the Westfield Matildas squad ahead of the rescheduled Olympic Games to be held in Tokyo and the AFC U20 Women’s Asian Cup.

“The world is watching women’s football in Australia, and we know how much fans want to be a part of the action too. Every game will be available online, and on Thursday and Sundays Westfield W-League fans can watch the games live on FOX SPORTS and ABC TV.”

Brisbane Roar FC forward Emily Gielnik, said:

“This season is a massive opportunity for young players coming through to show exactly what they’re made of, especially in the run up to the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023. I’ve returned to play in the Westfield W-League this season, considering the timing of everything, I feel it’s the best decision forward for me at this current stage.”
