Urawa Red Diamonds has been confirmed as Brisbane Roar’s J-League opponent in the group stage of the AFC Champions League 2015.

Following Gamba Osaka’s win over Montedio Yamagata in yesterday’s Emperor’s Cup final, Urawa will line up alongside the Roar, Suwon Bluewings of Korea Republic and the yet-to-be-determined winner of Play Off 4 in Group G.

The inclusion of the Reds, who play out of one of Asia’s largest football specific venues in Saitama Stadium, is sure to be a popular choice for an AFC Champions League away trip for Brisbane’s members and fans.

The final member of Group G will not be confirmed until February 17.

In round one of qualifying on February 4, Johor Darul Ta’zim (Malaysia) play Bengaluru (India). The winner of that match faces former captain Matt Smith’s new club Bangkok Glass of Thailand on February 10. The successful team progresses to the final round of qualifying, playing Beijing Guoan for a spot in Group G.

Brisbane Roar is currently working on the final details of ticketing for the AFC Champions League and will release information as soon as possible.
