Super six and Ange in All-Star team

Six Brisbane Roar players and Head Coach Ange Postecoglou have been named in the Hyundai A-League 2010/11 All-Star team, as voted for by thousands of fans via the Hyundai A-League website.

In further recognition of the club-s highly successful season, six Brisbane Roar players and Head Coach Ange Postecoglou have been named in the Hyundai A-League 2010/11 All-Star team, as voted for by thousands of fans via the Hyundai A-League website.

Less than week after claiming the competition-s Coach of the Year award, Postecoglou heads the selection with goalkeeper Michael Theoklitos, defenders Luke DeVere (now playing in the K-League) and Ivan Franjic, midfielders Matt McKay and Thomas Broich and young striker Kosta Barbarouses displaying Brisbane-s quality throughout the park by being named in the final team.

Former Roar players Robbie Kruse and Sergio van Dijk also feature on the list, as well as Grand Final opponent Joshua Rose of Central Coast Mariners, Johnny Warren medallist Marcos Flores and defender Cassio, both of Adelaide United.

Brisbane Roar gloveman Michael Theoklitos was pleased with the recognition but named the success and hard work of the entire team as the catalyst for his impressive performances.

“It-s great to get all the personal accolades but at the end of the day, all it comes down to team success,” Theoklitos said.

“That-s why we-ve had a successful year, because everyone individually has been doing their job and it-s been a pleasure to play for this team.”
