Queensland football fans will get the opportunity to watch Liverpool FC’s star players in action for just $20 thanks to a special ticket offer released today.

The Reds’ only pre-match training session at Suncorp Stadium on Thursday, 16 July – the day before they take on Brisbane Roar – will be open to the public.

It will run for about an hour from 7.30pm.

Tickets are $20 (adults) and $10 (children/concession) and are available now from www.ticketek.com.au. Click here

It is recommended that tickets are pre-purchased although they will be on sale at the stadium prior to the start of the training session.

Proceeds raised will support local charities including Royal Society for the Blind, The Smith Family, The Reagan Milstein Foundation, CanTeen and The Big Issue as well as supporting the Club’s official charity, Liverpool FC Foundation.

While the Liverpool-Roar match is close to a sell-out, the open training session is part of a program of activity the clubs will undertake to ensure maximum engagement with the Queensland football community during LFC’s stay in Brisbane.

The LFC touring party will include coaching staff from the club’s charity, the Liverpool FC Foundation, who will partner key players in various public appearances as well as taking part in events with official LFC supporters’ clubs, Liverpool FC officials said.

“Show Your Colours” Liverpool FC Tour flags have begun to go up on light poles around the Brisbane CBD. With an estimated 600,000 Liverpool supporters in Australia, and millions worldwide, many SEQ venues are making plans for a red sea of LFC fans to descend on the region in mid-July.

Among them will be Richard Claypole (pictured), from Bracknell in Berkshire.

Richard was randomly selected from thousands of entries in Britain to enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime experience in Brisbane courtesy of Tourism and Events Queensland.

As well as two tickets to watch the Reds face the Roar, the prize included a $10,000 travel voucher.

Richard has been an LFC supporter for more than 30 years and can hardly believe he will be travelling to Australia to watch his beloved team.

“It’s a bit surreal, I feel like I’m going to wake up in a minute and it won’t be real,” he told LFCTour.com.

“We’re looking at a few different options to make the most of our time out there. We’ll look to spend some time in Brisbane as well as maybe spending a few days exploring the Great Barrier Reef.”

Among the many local events connected to the LFC Tour will be Brisbane Airport’s “Football & Friends” luncheon at Gambaro Hotel on Friday, 17 July.

Special guests at the luncheon include David Gallop, the chief executive of Football Federation Australia, former Socceroos captain and new Roar Football Operations Manager Craig Moore and former Matildas and Roar W-League player Brooke Spence.

Tables of 10 ($1650) are now available for the two-course luncheon (with drinks package). For more information click here or phone 3406 3192.

Brisbane Airport also is running a competition in which the lucky winner and a friend will receive a önce-in-a-lifetime experience that includes sideline tickets to the game and a food and drinks package.

The prize package also includes two tickets to the “Football & Friends” luncheon as well as a meet and greet with the Liverpool Legends.

The competition closes next Tuesday. To enter click here.
