Roar Youth looking to bounce back

Brisbane Roar Youth will need to make a quick recovery from Tuesday’s disappointing 5-2 loss when they play Adelaide United Youth on Friday.

Brisbane Roar Youth will need to make a quick recovery from Tuesday-s disappointing 5-2 loss when they take on Adelaide United Youth at Spencer Park on Friday, the side-s second match in the space of four days.

After being outplayed by an energetic Central Coast Mariners side, Roar Youth will be desperate to find the form that took them to the top of the table through the early months of the National Youth League competition.

While disappointed with the way his side performed against the Mariners, Brisbane Roar Youth Head Coach John Sime was confident that his side had the ability to bounce back quickly.

“It was very disappointing, we spoke after the game and now we have to move on,” Sime said.

“The game on Friday night will be very important to us, because it gives us a great opportunity to get back on track straight away.”

With Friday-s match-up being the third time Brisbane and Adelaide have faced off this season, both sides will have a great understanding of their opposition and will look to capitalise early on.

With their opposition sitting two points behind the Roar Youth on the table, Sime believes his side will have to put in a quality performance to overcome a determined Adelaide Youth outfit.

“Adelaide is a good side with some great young talent and no doubt they will be confident after seeing our last result,” Sime said.

“The problem against the Mariners was that the boys weren-t physically up for it; hopefully that wake-up call was what was required to get the side back to performing at their best.”

“As I have said to the players all season, if they work hard and put in a top quality
performance the results will follow.”

With Friday-s encounter with Adelaide firming to be a test of the Roar Youth-s ability, Sime was confident that fans would be in for a quality football match.

“Both sides need the result so it is certainly going to set up an intriguing encounter.”
