Just one round remains in the Westfield W-league regular season and our Roar Women are in contention to defend their Premiership as they prepare to face Adelaide United away this Friday night (6.30pm KO QLD time).

Head Coach Mel Andreatta has prepared her side accordingly and will not underestimate the Reds on their home turf.

“We’re excited. Adelaide is always a great place to visit and they’ve had a great season so we know no matter what that they’ll be up for a fight on Friday night,” Andreatta said.

“The team that takes their opportunities and backs themselves the most is going to get a result.”

Coming off an strong win over Canberra United, the Roar Women are hitting their straps as a second straight finals series approaches.

Roar’s Head Coach has praised her side’s efforts after months of hard work has them sitting in second place with one round to play.

“It’s a reflection of everyone’s commitment to being better and that starts with the players. They own this environment and the leadership group has really driven that,” Andreatta continued.

“The thing that makes me most proud is to watch them lead and nurture the younger players who have all been given opportunities to play this season.”

“It’s also about not forgetting what got us into this position, which is a real willingness to learn, improve and being open to challenge.

“We’re going to be faced with more hurdles in the coming weeks and it’s just believing that we’ve done the work and we know what our processes are to put in a good performance. I have no doubt it will be business as usual.”

A win on Friday night will secure the Roar Women a home Semi-Final & keep them in contention for the season’s first piece of silverware.
