Roar recognised at Dolan Warren Awards

O'Shea, Gielnik & Moon

Brisbane Roar celebrated individual and team accolades alike as the annual Dolan Warren Awards took place on Wednesday night.

It was a collective effort for the first honours on offer as the Club claimed both the A-League and the Westfield W-League Fair Play Awards after accruing the least number of yellow and red card points in each respective competition.

Brisbane great Emily Gielnik scooped the Westfield W-League Golden Boot for scoring 13 times throughout the Roar’s run to the Semi Finals.

She was also named in the PFA’s Westfield W-League Team of the Season alongside Clare Polkinghorne, Jamilla Rankin and Tameka Yallop.

Star midfielder Jay O’Shea was included among the substitutes in the PFA’s A-League Team of the Season after tallying four goals, three assists and 72 chances created, the second most in the league.

Head Coach Warren Moon also earned recognition at the end of his first full season in charge of the A-League side, being voted by his peers as one of the top three coaches in the competition.
