Calendars out again, BRFC fans - the Westfield W-League Season 11 fixture is here!
Your Roar Women will be looking to go one step further than their Premiership-winning campaign last season and will begin their quest with a blockbuster double header on home turf.
We kick-off Westfield W-League Season 11 against Perth Glory at Suncorp Stadium on Sunday, 28 October (1:30pm KO). The contest will be played before our Round 2 Hyundai A-League clash against Wellington Phoenix.
“To open season 11 at our fortress, Suncorp Stadium, against Perth Glory is a football fan’s dream. I’m sure our supporters can’t wait to see two quality sides in action,” Head Coach Mel Andreatta said.
“We had a lot of success last season and we are ready to take our game to another level in what will be a tough and competitive 2018/19 competition.
“The off-season has flown by and the players have been working hard and making excellent progress. We are ready for the challenge.”
The opening round fixture is one of three Westfield W-League/Hyundai A-League double headers involving the Roar, with your Roar Women to take on Melbourne City away at AAMI Park in Round 11 (Friday, 11 January) and Canberra United at Suncorp Stadium in Round 13 (Friday, 25 January).
In season 2018/19, Redcliffe’s Dolphin Stadium and Lions Stadium at Richlands will also host Westfield W-League fixtures.
Lions Stadium will host three fixtures throughout the season - the visits of Adelaide United in Round 3 (Sunday, 18 November), Melbourne Victory in Round 7 (Sunday, 16 December) & Sydney FC in Round 12 (Saturday, 19 January).
Redcliffe’s Dolphin Stadium will host our final pre-Christmas contest against Western Sydney Wanderers on Thursday, 20 December.
“We’ve worked extremely hard with all stakeholders to make sure it is possible to take Westfield W-League fixtures to the local football community in season 2018/19," BRFC Managing Director David Pourre said.
"The Club is excited and I’m sure our fans and supporters can’t wait for our Roar Women to kick off season 11 at Suncorp Stadium on Sunday, October 28."
“BRFC is proud of our rich history in this competition and we will continue to help Head Coach Mel Andreatta and her talented squad achieve continued success.
“We believe being able to play games at Redcliffe’s Dolphin Stadium and Richland’s Lions FC Stadium will give the local football community the opportunity to see Queensland’s finest female footballers in action.”
BRFC Westfield W-League Memberships will once again be available for the upcoming season. Stay tuned for more details in the coming days.
