Raso re-joined the squad following international duty with the Westfield Matildas earlier this week & is feeling right at home back in Brisbane ahead of another season in orange.

“It’s good to get back around the team that I’m going to be playing with for the rest of the season,” Raso said.

“I think we’ve added a lot more depth this season – we’ve brought back a few Queenslanders and got our internationals back.

“We’re just building on from the seasons we’ve had and this is the season we want to go all the way.”

Under new Head Coach Jake Goodship, the Roar will be looking to go a step further than the back-to-back top-two finishes & semi-final exits in the previous two campaigns.

The new Head Coach has already made a positive impression on the squad according to Raso.

“He’s been great and I’ve heard a lot of positive things from everybody,” the winger said.

“He’s tough and he’s hard on us but we’re getting really good sessions in at training.”

A good lead-in to the fresh season has been crucial for Raso, who missed a large part of last season with injury, adding that the first round bye has been an extra boost.

“It’s really important having that bye – it gives us an extra week to get together, train harder and get ourselves ready,” Raso continued.

“I only played a few games last season so to be here with the team training and getting a good pre-season under my belt is really helpful for me.

“I’m just really looking forward to the start of the season.”
