Brisbane Roar defender James Donachie is in Turkey, representing Australia at the FIFA U20 World Cup.

Australia opened their campaign with a respectable 1-1 draw with Colombia. James was an unused substitute as Daniel da Silva scored the Qantas Young Socceroos’ goal.

Donachie again sat on the bench for Australia’s second group stage match as the Qantas Young Socceroos lost 2-1 to El Salvador. Queenslander Joshua Brillante scored the only goal for the green and gold.

Donachie played the full 90 minutes in the Qantas Young Socceroos’ final group stage match, a 2-1 loss to host nation Turkey which ended Australia’s FIFA U20 World Cup campaign.
