Young Roar coach James Robinson says his side are eager to finish their season on a high when they face Redlands United FC in Sunday’s PlayStation 4 National Premier Leagues Queensland clash at AJ Kelly Park.
This weekend's home match will kick off at 3:00 pm and completes the PS4NPLQLD 2017 regular season.
Brisbane Roar’s Youth side will enter the contest looking to make it a clean sweep of the Redlands based side after a dominant 3-0 performance in Round 11 at Cleveland Showgrounds.
An impressive attacking display in the reverse fixture saw two early goals from Nathan Yoon and Finn Beakhurst followed by a delightful second-half volley from Rahmat Akbari.
Head Coach James Robinson says his side have worked hard throughout the season and are looking forward to the contest with the 2016 champions.
"All the players and coaches want to finish the 2017 season on a high," Robinson said.
“We have seen improvement and development from every individual.
"Collectively as a squad we've made positive progress which is pleasing from a coach's perspective."
This weekend’s fixture against Redlands will be the final opportunity for the Young Roar’s leading goal-scorer, Nathan Yoon, to build upon his ten-goal tally, after a bright season in front of goal.
Despite the final ladder finish, Robinson’s side can look back with optimism. This season saw the team compete in a physically demanding league but it has brought invaluable experience for the Roar’s young brigade.
“As a young group it has been a great learning experience to play against men week in, week out," Robinson added.
"Many of our players have now been given opportunities with our Hyundai A-League side which shows a pathway that is achievable through hard work.
"Following this weekend's match our squad will start to prepare for the upcoming Foxtel National Youth League season, but we look forward to competing again in next year’s competition."
