Brisbane Roar is excited to announce that Dimitri Petratos has re-signed with the club.

Petratos joined the Roar in June on a season-long deal and has now penned a new two-year contract extension that will keep him in orange until the end of the Hyundai A-League 2015/16 season.

The 21-year-old has scored four goals in his last two appearances for Brisbane, including a hat-trick against former club Sydney FC on Boxing Day.

“This is a result of Dimi-s hard work on and off the football pitch,” Head Coach Mike Mulvey said.

“I-ve been impressed with his attitude since joining us. Dimi understood he needed to be patient and now he-s reaping the rewards.

“I can see he-s continually pushing himself to perform and improve as a Brisbane Roar player.”

Petratos was equally excited to extend his time with the two-time Hyundai A-League Champions.

“I-m really happy because I feel comfortable here and I-m enjoying my football,” he said.

“The club made me feel welcome right from the start and I think the way we play our football suits me as a player.”

The Sydney-born attacking player has made 11 appearances for the Roar, starting four, and is looking forward to continually pushing his claims under Mulvey.

“When I joined the club, my focus was on getting game time but I knew I would have to work hard,” Petratos said.

“I feel like I-ve grown as a player since coming to Brisbane so I hope I can keep doing that.”

Petratos and his Roar teammates face Adelaide United this Saturday, 11 January in round 14 of the Hyundai A-League 2013/14 season. Kick-off at Suncorp Stadium is at 4.30pm.
