Young Roar beaten by City

Brisbane Roar Youth have fallen to Conference A leaders Melbourne City in Fridays afternoon's Foxtel NYL clash at Lanham Park.

A goal in the shadows of half-time to City defender Dylan Pierias handed the visitors the lead before two strikes in the second stanza saw the visitors run out 3-0 victors.

The Young Roar weren't without their chances throughout the match with their best period coming in the opening stages of the second half.

The hosts' best chance fell to Bryce Bafford shortly after the hour mark with the young attacker denied by a strong arm from City keeper James Delianov.

The Young Roar’s next Foxtel NYL fixture is away against Melbourne Victory next Sunday, 7 January.
