Four BRFC Hyundai A-League stars are in the running to be crowned La Dolce Vita Player of the Month for their performances in February.
Dylan Wenzel-Halls, Eric Bautheac, Alex Lopez and Matt Mckay have all been nominated following their performances over the last month.
Wenzel-Halls marked his starting debut for the club with a goal against Adelaide United at the beginning of the month. The livewire attacker started every subsequent match and went on to score a further two goals including a stunning winner against Sydney FC.
The young striker’s performance in the win over Sydney earned him a spot in the Round 18 Hyundai A-League Team of the Week and the goal, which was his first at Suncorp Stadium, was selected as Goal of the Week.
Eric Bautheac had a classy month in the front third highlighted by a stunning display and goal in the Round 20 win over Central Coast Mariners. The performance earned him selection in Hyundai A-League Team of the Week as well as Goal of the Week.
Alex Lopez played 90 minutes in every match bar the Round 19 loss in Perth. The Spanish maestro’s month was highlighted by a pair of sensational goals in Friday night’s win over Central Coast Mariners.
Captain Matt McKay was crucial throughout the month of February, playing every minute of every match. Perhaps the skipper’s most important showing came in the home win over Sydney FC where he impressively deputised in the back line following injuries to Jack Hingert and Luke Devere.
McKay’s performance that night earned him selection in the Round 18 Hyundai A-League Team of the Week.
