In only his third game for the Club, Danish midfielder Thomas Kristensen scores a vital goal which earned the team an important three points away to Central Coast Mariners in the Hyundai A-League.
How did it feel scoring your first Brisbane Roar goal in the side’s first win for the season?
“It’s nice to get a goal; it always boosts your confidence. It was nice but the three points was more important.
“The win was important because we were longing for that, especially after last week, so it was important to bounce back straight away and we did."
Where do you think the Roar can improve in the coming weeks?
“We want to play good football as well and I think we’re on the right track. We need to improve every game but the only medicine after last week was to get a win this weekend and we did that.
“I think what we lacked yesterday was closing the game off. If Jamie Maclaren’s shot that hit the crossbar had gone in, then we could have scored a few more. We kept the game alive but not scoring a second goal and it was a struggle.
“We can improve, but it’s only the third game. We stopped them creating shots on target and it’s difficult for the opposition to score if they can’t do that
After playing three games now, what do you think of the Hyundai A-League?
“What I’ve seen in the first three rounds of this league is that you can’t expect anything. I won’t be taking away any credit from Central Coast Mariners because there are no easy games in this league and every game is difficult.
Are you excited for back-to-back home matches at Suncorp Stadium?
“Of course! It will be great to play two home games now. My parents are coming next week so hopefully we can get a win for them, and maybe another goal."
Don't forget, after the completion of our game against Perth Glory on Sunday, October 30 will be inviting all those in attendance to take part in the annual 'whole of club' photo on the pitch at Suncorp Stadium. Get your tickets NOW!
