Ins & Outs: Season opener

Head Coaches Warren Moon & Jake Goodship have locked in their extended squads for tomorrow’s season opening fixtures against Melbourne City at Dolphin Stadium.

Our Roar Women will open the new Westfield W-League season at 3:35pm against the defending champions before Moon’s men take on last season’s A-League grand finalists in the second clash of the double header from 6:05pm.

Three players are in contention to make their Westfield W-League debuts with a handful more in line to make their Brisbane Roar debuts in tomorrow evening’s season opener.

A well-balanced squad also features six internationals, including Clare Polkinghorne who will once again don the armband for the 2020/21 campaign, as well five teenagers.

Four players are in contention for an A-League debut tomorrow evening with Japanese signing Riku Danzaki in the mix alongside Academy talents Keegan Jelacic, Alex Parsons and former Young Roar captain Jesse Daley.

Queenslanders Joe Champness and Josh Brindell-South are also in the mix for their first top-tier appearance in Brisbane colours in a squad that features plenty of familiar faces and experienced heads.
