Roar Active Program ends another fun-filled summer

School has returned for another year for many kids which means another fun-filled and successful Summer Holidays for the Roar Active Program has come to an end.

Almost 2500 children took part in the Roar’s summer schedule with indoor clinics as well Rapid Fire Field appearances at venues across Brisbane, Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast.

Indoor clinics were delivered at six different venues, as was the Rapid Fire Field at ten different vacation care venues and a Community Day at Brookwater Golf Club.

Participants were led by our highly-skilled coaches through a variety of activities designed to improve their football game, but most importantly have fun.

“Our Brisbane Roar Active Holiday Program is for enthusiastic players looking to improve their game whilst having fun," Community Football Program Manager Andy Pinches said.

There were even a few surprises as some of our Hyundai A-League players, including young midfielder Joe Caletti, heading along to the clinics to catch up some of our youngest fans.

Registrations for a number of clinics had to be closed due to the remarkable interest, with a record number of kids arriving in Brisbane orange being the highlight of a remarkable summer program.

“We are very proud of this program and our team of casual coaches along who enable us to weave our magic in the community,” Pinches added.

"Highly-skilled coaches delivered a structured program, catering to a variety of age groups and skill levels.”

ROAR ACTIVE PROGRAM TESTIMONIALS

"My son George had a great time and the rest of the coaches were amazing with all the kids. Very accommodating and will definitely attend another clinic – going to a clinic of this standard was great & totally worthwhile. One thing it has done is instil George’s love of soccer even more and we hope to take him to a Roar game soon.”

“Thank you so much for welcoming David to your clinic this week. He was so much more confident approaching this session and your wonderful warm genuine approach with the kids just puts them at ease and ready to learn! The sessions looked to be very engaging, skill building and definitely fun. Dave has come home excited from each day of the clinic and will certainly be looking for more Brisbane Roar activities to do!”

“I would just really like to say thank you. It was such a great program and my son had such a great time. Coaches were great with the kids, kept them going the whole time, was really organised and ran so smoothly. Will be coming back for sure, well done to you all!”
