Our Young Roar return to Brisbane for their first home match of the Foxtel National Youth League 2017/18 season against Melbourne Victory on Sunday at Lanham Park (10:30am KO).
The Roar opened their campaign with a defeat against Melbourne City in a clash that was shortened due to dangerous weather, but Head Coach James Robinson says his side will be better for the experience.
“It was a challenge for us. We had some really young boys who played their first game which was really positive,” Robinson said.
“City came out of the blocks firing and put us on the back foot with an early goal but we’ll be better for it.”
In what was a moment sure to warm the hearts of all Roar supporters, Daniel Bowles made his return to the pitch last weekend against City after a lengthy stint on the sideline with a knee injury.

The Roar will be looking to hit the ground running against the Victory, a side against whom they hold a strong record, on Sunday morning.
While all Brisbane Roar sides play every game to win, Robinson says preparing his players for future Hyundai A-League opportunities is also paramount.
“We aim to win every game and come out on top but at the end of the day the process is to give the players tools to make sure, when they get the opportunity to play in the first team, they’re prepared,” Robinson concluded.
