Festive season roars on

With the festive season well and truly upon us Brisbane Roar has been getting into the spirit of things with stacks of events and giveaways over the past few weeks.

Brisbane Roar v. Wellington Phoenix - 29 November

The club kicked off the Christmas period with an exclusive party for Roar members and Junior Orange Army Brigadiers before the match, featuring activities, giveaways and appearances from all the players.

Those in attendance were invited by the club to donate items to Project Love and Care, and the response was overwhelming.

The match itself was part of the Movember round in the Hyundai A-League, with $1 from each ticket purchased going to the charity, which also received $750 through the efforts of Reinaldo, Henrique, Sergio van Dijk and the Roar staff who persevered with some dodgy facial fashions over the month.

Brisbane Roar v. Adelaide United - 12 December

Kids got a taste of the action before they even got into the stadium, with the inflatable Roar Rapid Fire field assembled outside prior to kick off and hosting plenty of games.

The much-anticipated Australia-s Favourite Soccer Mum competition came to a head at half-time of the match, with Ingrid Drynan winning the title and Hyundai Santa Fei from the Coffee Club, while her voter picked up a $20,000 Kitchen from Kitchen Connection.

Meanwhile, Sporting Wheelies- Cerebral Palsy football coach Jay Larkins was a special guest at the match, where he presented the Roar with a certificate in appreciation of the club-s support over the season.

Brisbane Roar v. North Queensland Fury - 16 December

The Roar-s 2-0 win was a timely result for more than one reason, with van Dijk-s double securing a $3000 grant for Annerley Soccer Club through the Hyundai Goals for Grassroots campaign.

At half-time, the Zurf challenge on the pitch pitted members from the Queensland Ambulance Service against their counterparts from the Queensland Fire Service, with the firies claiming the bragging rights.

The challenge was part of a gesture from the club to thank the emergency service crews for all of their hard work keeping us safe over the holiday period.

Matchdays have also featured plenty of other events, with the Brazilian samba drummers and giveaways from the Coffee Club all part of the club-s efforts to maintain the energy and excitement of Brisbane Roar matches.
