It-s all about confidence for Brisbane Roar Women as they prepare to host Melbourne Victory at Queensland Sports and Athletics Centre tomorrow morning.

Still without their six squad members on international duty, Head Coach Belinda Wilson will be relying on her less experienced players to display the self-belief they showed in last week-s narrow 2-1 loss to Western Sydney Wanderers.

“The whole squad took confidence out of that game, especially the second half,” she said.

“They-ve said how they felt they let the game go and that they should have taken points away from it.

“Now, the younger and less experienced girls are more familiar, more comfortable and after this week at training will have more confidence.

“We-ve mainly been working on our tactical aspects at training – getting a better understanding on our defencing and our attacking.”

It-s been just four weeks since these two sides last faced off – the Roar prevailing 1-0 in a tight contest with Vedrana Popovic-s pinpoint free-kick the difference – and Wilson can use the knowledge from last month-s match to her advantage.

“We played them in the second round, just when they were trying to get their team organised,” she said.

“They-re more organised now but so are we so it should be a good contest.

“They-ve got two new international players but they-re also missing players through injury and national team call-ups.

“Their new players should make a difference to how they play and they-ve obviously got the confidence now after beating Sydney and Canberra.”

The Roar coach didn-t have any issues with tomorrow-s 10am kick-off time.

“As long as the players all go to bed early tonight, we shouldn-t have any problems!” Wilson said.
