Brisbane Roar would like to clarify media reports regarding the removal of a banner from Suncorp Stadium during the second half of the Hyundai A-League match against Wellington Phoenix on Sunday, March 17.

All banners displayed at the stadium must first be submitted to the club to ensure they meet criteria set under the Football Federation Australia and Suncorp Stadium terms of admission to a Hyundai A-League match.

In this instance the banner was not submitted to the club for approval. As a breach of this protocol the banner was removed, regardless of content.

The group who displayed the banner are aware of the protocol in regards to admission of banners at the stadium and the club has engaged the group in discussions subsequent to the match.

The banner will be returned to the supporter group this week and can be submitted for approval prior to the club-s next home game at Suncorp Stadium against Melbourne Victory on Saturday, March 9.

The club considers the matter closed and will not be making any further comment.
