Brisbane Roar has helped celebrate Cavendish Road State High-s double triumphant in the Bill Turner Cup and Trophy tournaments at A.J Kelly Park.

‘One of the world-s largest team sports competitions-, the Bill Turner Cup (boys) and Trophy (girls) hosts nearly 8000 players from NSW, Queensland, ACT and Victoria.

Played at the home of Brisbane Premier League club Peninsula Power, the Queensland finals featured schools ranging from tropical Cairns to Redcliffe in the south.

But it was Cavendish Road which proved too strong in both competitions, with the girls cruising to a 3-0 victory over Kawana Waters State College and the boys running home 2-0 winners over Cairns State High.

Cleveland District State High finished third in the Trophy thanks to a 2-1 win over Redcliffe State High, while Kawana Waters hammered Brisbane Grammar School 4-1 to claim third in the Cup.

Brisbane Roar players Reinaldo, Eric Paartalu, Henrique and Andrew Redmayne were on hand to congratulate the players on a fantastic competition – Henrique presenting the victorious Cavendish Road girls with their trophy.

Both Cavendish Road teams will now travel to Lake Macquarie for the Bill Turner Cup and Trophy Grand Final series in early September.
