With the Westfield W-League finished for the 2012/13 season, Brisbane Roar-s Tameka Butt has signed for 1 FFC Frankfurt in Germany-s women-s Bundesliga.

Frankfurt has traditionally been one of the strongest teams in European women-s football, having finished third in the league last season while also qualifying for the final of the UEFA Women-s Champions League – a competition they have won three times.

After a start disrupted by minor injuries, Butt-s 2012/13 campaign with the Roar finished strongly – a string of player of the match performances helping her side to the Westfield W-League semi-finals, where they lost to eventual winners Sydney FC.

The 21-year-old notched up her 50th club appearance in the final match of the season against Canberra United, an impressive statistic that includes more than one goal every two games for the dynamic midfielder.

“I feel very honoured to have this chance,” Butt said.

“I want to thank Brisbane for the great support.

“Now I am looking forward to my arrival in Frankfurt in the next few days and of course meeting my new team-mates, the club managers, club partners and fans of 1 FFC Frankfurt.”

Butt is no stranger to plying her trade overseas – she spent the 2012 Australian off season in the US with Boston Breakers and also has experience with Canada-s Ottawa Fury.
