Brisbane Roar can confirm young defender Corey Brown is recovering at home following an operation to remove his appendix yesterday.

The 20-year-old complained of stomach pain at yesterday morning-s training session and was directed to the club doctor, who diagnosed him with acute appendicitis and sent him for surgery in the afternoon.

“Corey will be rested and his return to training will be guided on the advice of the club-s medical staff,” Brisbane Roar Head Physiotherapist Tim Oostenbroek said.

Brown was released from hospital today and is expected to miss a month of football.
