Brisbane’s pre-season gathers momentum

Brisbane Roar’s pre-season schedule is gathering steam with the release of June’s schedule of training matches against local clubs.

Brisbane Roar-s pre-season schedule is gathering steam with the release of June-s schedule of training matches against local clubs.

The Hyundai A-League Champions and Premiers will play five games during the month, starting with a match against Redlands United at the Cleveland Showgrounds on Friday, June 3.

The squad is in its fourth week of pre-season training and Brisbane Roar Head Coach Ange Postecoglou said the training games would play an important part in the next phase of the training regime.

“The boys have looked good so far, but now we-ll look for them to take the next step,” Postecoglou said.

“The start of the season might still be four months away, but each of these games is vital as part of preparation for week one of the season.

“We look forward to getting out there and being tested by the Brisbane Premier League and Queensland State League clubs.”

Brisbane Roar CEO Eugenie Buckley said the training games were an important part of staying connected with the local football family.

“We take pride in our community engagement and visiting these local clubs is an important facet of that process,” Buckley said.

“By playing at the local clubs across Brisbane we hope to bring our players closer to our fans.”

June-s pre-season training game schedule will also include Peninsula Power, Sunshine Coast Fire, Eastern Suburbs and Brisbane Olympic.
