Our Roar Women are raring to go ahead of Sunday’s Westfield W-League 2018/19 Finals Series contest against Sydney FC.

The Roar head to Dolphin Stadium on Sunday (6:15pm KO) to take on the Sky Blues with a spot in next weekend’s Grand Final on the line.

The group remain focused ahead of this weekend’s home clash with sights firmly set on a record-equalling third Championship according to key defender Jenna McCormick.

“This is what we’ve played all season for, this is where it counts so we’ll certainly be raring and ready to go,” McCormick said.

“It’s a completely different ball game, everybody goes to another level and anything can happen in Finals football.”

Sunday’s match marks the third occasion the two sides have met this season with McCormick expecting another stern test from the Sky Blues who finished just a point shy of the Roar in third on the Westfield W-League 2018/19 ladder.

“It’s going to be a really good test, we’ll be coming up against [Caitlin] Foord, [Chloe] Logarzo and [Savannah] McCaskill who are all quality players,” McCormick said.

“It’ll be a big test for our backline and that flows on for the rest of the team, they’ve got a strong starting eleven and it will be a test for every single one of us.

“We’ve got world class players in our side and at our home ground, in front of our family and friends, we’ll match them like for like and we will  give it our best shot.”

The Roar Women will call Dolphin Stadium home for a second time this season, returning to the venue where they defeated Western Sydney Wanderers with an impressive display back in Round 8.

McCormick believes her side is confident of building on their good form and momentum at their Redcliffe home.

“Dolphin Stadium is a wonderful ground with a great surface and we will be looking to continue our good form this weekend,” McCormick stated.

“It’s a great facility, we all enjoyed it as a team and got the win last time we were here so we’ve got positive vibes going into Sunday’s match.”

A win in Sunday’s semi-Final will see our Roar Women face the winner of Melbourne Victory and Perth Glory in next weekend’s Grand Final.
