Brisbane Roar confirm player departures

Danzaki and Champness

Brisbane Roar can today confirm the departure of five players from its current A-League squad following the conclusion of the Club’s 2020/21 campaign.

Attacking midfielders Riku Danzaki and Joe Champness have reached the end of their loan deals after appearing in 26 and 24 matches respectively.

Danzaki scored nine times to claim the Roar’s Golden Boot award, which was presented to him on Thursday ahead of his flight back to Japan, while Champness chipped in with two goals.

The Club will explore any available opportunities to bring both players back to Brisbane leading into the 2021/22 Season.

Jordan Courtney-Perkins has opted to pursue a new challenge in Europe after two seasons in Roar’s senior set-up and fellow defender Antonee Burke-Gilroy has also departed.

As announced on Wednesday, Macaulay Gillesphey has headed home to England to join EFL League One side Plymouth Argyle.

Brisbane Roar wishes each player well and thanks them for their contribution to the Club.

Further announcements regarding player movements will be made in the coming days.
