Brisbane Roar wishes to advise that Avram Papadopoulos has been handed a seven (7) match suspension, which includes the one match already served, by the Disciplinary and Ethics Committee.
The suspension relates to an incident in the second half of the Club’s Hyundai A-League Round 8 match on Saturday, 25 November at Allianz Stadium involving Sydney FC’s Matt Simon.
Following the verdict, Papadopoulos said; “I would like to once again apologise for my actions in our match in Sydney on November 25 and take this opportunity to thank the Club, Professional Footballers Australia, and barrister Mr Simon Philips for their support throughout this process.”
Given the lateness of the decision handed down by the Disciplinary and Ethics committee the Club will be consulting barrister Mr Simon Philips regarding appeal options.
BRFC and the player will not be making any further comment at this time.
