Brisbane Roar has signed a one-year partnership with leading Australian compression sports apparel provider 2XU.

The partnership is an exciting collaboration between the Hyundai A-League Champions and Australia-s fastest growing high performance compression apparel brand.

2XU will supply compression garments to Brisbane-s Hyundai A-League, Westfield W-League and National Youth League squads.

With a focus on optimising athletic performance, 2XU-s philosophy is a close fit for Brisbane Roar-s own ambitions to set the benchmark standards in the Hyundai A-League.

Brisbane Roar CEO Eugenie Buckley said the agreement was another step forward for the club as it sought to successfully defend the title won at Suncorp Stadium on Orange Sunday in front of 50,000 fans.

“We-re thrilled to have 2XU join with us as we seek to build on last season-s success,” Buckley said.

“As a club we-re proud to be working with an Australian company and hope our association will bring benefits for both parties as we seek success domestically and in Asia this season.”

Football Conditioning coach Ken Stead said the quality of 2XU-s acclaimed products would be of great benefit for the playing squad, particularly with the AFC Champions League campaign set to kick-off in February.

“For our players to compete and succeed at the highest level we need to be working with high quality products and 2XU certainly fall into that category,” Stead said.

“2XU-s innovation puts it at the forefront of compression technology and we believe that will put us in prime position to help the players reach their full potential.

“With the AFC Champions League campaign to run concurrently with the Hyundai A-League season recovery will be even more important to ensure optimal performance from the squad and we are confident 2XU will give us the edge we need to succeed.”

Launched in 2005, 2XU has quickly established itself as an industry leader for compression sports apparel.
