Brisbane Roar has agreed to mutually terminate the contract of winger Rocky Visconte effective immediately.

Head Coach Mike Mulvey thanked Visconte for his contribution and commitment to the club.

“Rocky has worked hard at training since I arrived at the club and we wish him the best of luck for the future,” Mulvey said.

“These decisions are never taken lightly, but we felt it was the right thing to do at this point in time.

“At this stage of his career Rocky needs to play first team football and he was not likely to figure in our first team plans.”

Visconte-s contract was due to expire at the end of the current season, having joined the club for the start of the Hyundai A-League 2010/11 season from Scottish Premier League outfit Heart of Midlothian.

The Adelaide-born winger made 24 appearances for the club, but has not featured in Brisbane-s Hyundai A-League match day squad this season.

Brisbane Roar fans will fondly remember Visconte-s contribution to the 2011 Grand Final success as he played a key role in the lead-up to the corner which saw Erik Paartalu score a dramatic late extra time equaliser.
