Brisbane Roar moved one step closer to the Hyundai A-League season opener on August 8 with the official club launch at Suncorp Stadium last night.

Along with Head of Hyundai A-League Lyall Gorman and Minister for Natural Resources, Mines & Energy and Minister for Trade the Right Honourable Stephen Robertson, club sponsors, corporate partners, members of the local football family, club members and media representatives were given an unusual tour of the stadium-s player facilities.

Peppered with comedy acts through the tour of the underbelly of the stadium, guests were given a light-hearted insight into the inner workings of a Brisbane Roar match day.

The second half of the evening gave guests a true taste of football-s global attraction with three performances from the far reaches of the globe.

The Brisbane Boys- College pipe and drums band opened up proceedings, followed by the Brazilian Samba School drummers with the performances concluded by a stirring solo vocal performance by Kenyan refugee Sam Okoth.

Brisbane Roar-s Westfield W-League and Hyundai A-League squads were both presented to the crowd before the historic handshake between Brisbane Roar CEO Peter McLennan and Suncorp Stadium General Manager Alan Graham which officially announced the club-s five-year tenancy deal at the venue.
