Brisbane Roar CEO David Pourre was on site in Gladstone yesterday to officially launch a pre-season fixture to be played against a Gladstone Select outfit at Marley Brown Oval on Saturday, 27 July.

The fixture will conclude a week-long pre-season camp in the Gladstone region, the first under new Head Coach Robbie Fowler, beginning on July 21.

The Roar will be involved in a number of community engagement events throughout the week, as well as hosting opening training sessions ahead of the July 27 fixture.

Brisbane Roar CEO David Pourre says the trip is a terrific opportunity for both BRFC & the Gladstone football community.

“Brisbane Roar is excited about the opportunity to journey to Gladstone as we continue to build what is sure to be an exciting Hyundai A-League 2019/20 Season,” Pourre said.

“The week-long trip will be a perfect opportunity for our players and coaches to engage with the local community as well as give the Gladstone football fraternity the chance to engage with Queensland’s only Hyundai A-League outfit up close.

“We would like to thank the Gladstone Regional Council for their support and we can’t wait to travel to the region in the coming weeks.”

It’s the second consecutive pre-season in which the Roar have taken pre-season preparations to the State’s regional areas following a trip to Mackay in July 2018.

CEO David Pourre was joined by Gladstone Region Mayor Matt Burnett at yesterday’s launch, with tickets now on sale to the public.
