Last Sunday at Suncorp Stadium BRFC Orthopedic Surgeon Jeremy Bartlett was part of the medical team that helped Newcastle Jets player Ronald Vargas from the field after he sustained an injury during the second half.
Bartlett was on the scene, as he is at every home match, when medical attention was required for Vargas after a collision in midfield.
Bartlett was able to quickly assess his injury and ensure he received swift medical treatment.
It is an important core value of the Brisbane Roar Football Club to provide the best possible care and have a top medical team available for our Hyundai A-League, Westfield W-League and Youth teams, as well as their opponents.
“The nature of football means that sometimes very serious injuries occur on field and it is very important to me as the Roar's Orthopaedic Surgeon that all players have access to immediate and high-quality treatment whether it is one of our players or the visiting team,” Bartlett said.
“I’m pleased to be able to say that the surgery that Newcastle Jets footballer Ronnie Vargas had on the weekend was successful and he is already on the road to recovery.
"These sorts of events can often test our medical support staff and they certainly passed with flying colours on Sunday at Suncorp Stadium. We all wish Ronnie a speedy and successful return to football.”
The Brisbane Roar FC family would like to again wish Ronald Vargas all the best with his recovery and return to football.
