In a first of its kind, Brisbane Roar is pleased to announce a new Strategic Academy Partnership (SAP) to be based out of Murrumba State Secondary College.
The partnership is BRFC Academy’s first alignment with a school and is an important strategic development for the Club who now represents the full scope of football stakeholders through various partnerships.
The SAP, which will be delivered to boys and girls aged seven to 12 years, and used as additional training for selected players aged 13 to 16 years in the Northern Brisbane area, will be delivered wholly by BRFC with the Club’s Academy staff to coach each session.
Players from any environment are welcomed and encouraged to participate in the program as a supplementary training program which BRFC will attempt to accommodate.
"The launch of this program allows us to not only provide a better pathway into the Academy, open to all players in the Northern Suburbs area, but also to take responsibility for the quality of their coaching,” BRFC Academy Director Drew Sherman said.
“We want to increase the amount of football available to youngsters in the area without detracting from their school or club commitments.
“We aim to work in cooperatively with clubs that operate in the area such as Moreton Bay United and Peninsula Power FC. BRFC will aim to support these youngsters bridge the gap and put themselves in a position to strengthen their schools or clubs or possibly become a future BRFC Academy player.”
An information evening will be held at Murrumba State Secondary College on Wednesday, 13 December at 6pm. Trials will be held on Saturday, 16 December 2017 – players can register online HERE.
The training program is set to be launched in the week beginning 15 January, 2018.
