Brazil test awaits McKay

Brisbane Roar midfielder Matt McKay will have the chance to line up against some of the world’s biggest football stars after he was named in the Socceroos squad to take on Brazil in Brasilia on September 7.

Brisbane Roar midfielder Matt McKay will have the chance to line up against some of the world-s biggest football stars after he was named in the Socceroos squad to take on Brazil in Brasilia on September 7.

McKay, who re-joined his hometown club earlier this month, was one of four Hyundai A-League players in the 22-man squad selected by Head Coach Holger Osieck to play against next year-s FIFA World Cup hosts.

This will be the seventh match between Brazil and Australia at senior men-s international level after the team-s last met at the Allianz Arena in the group phase of the 2006 FIFA World Cup where Brazil were 2-0 winners.

The Socceroos are currently ranked 46th in the FIFA World Rankings whilst the Brazilians are currently 9th (as of 8 August 2013).

The match between the Socceroos and Brazil will be broadcast live & exclusive on FOX SPORTS 3HD and 3 from 5.00am (AEST).
