Foundation Westfield W-League star Tameka Yallop has today been locked in for another campaign in Brisbane orange.

Brisbane’s all-time leading Westfield W-League goal scorer will make it 13 seasons in orange when the 2020/21 campaign gets underway in December and is set to add to her staggering tally of 118 appearances for the Club.

The 2013/14 Julie Dolan Medal winner and two-time Westfield W-League Championship winner is excited for yet another campaign in Brisbane.

“It’s kind of crazy to see how much time has passed and how much Brisbane Roar has been there, the players and coaches who have come and gone,” Yallop said.

“It’s quite amazing. It [Brisbane Roar] is close to home and I love pulling on the orange jersey.”

A year plagued by the COVID-19 pandemic means it’s been seven months since the 29-year-old has taken the pitch in a competitive fixture.

“I had been waiting on edge for it [the season start date] to be announced and it was great to hear the news when that was confirmed,” Yallop said.

“I’ve been training with the men’s team in New Zealand – a couple of in-house scrimmages and things like that, but I’m really looking forward to getting back out there in a competitive environment.”

Head Coach Jake Goodship says: “Tameka has been an incredible player for Brisbane Roar, and for the national team too, for well beyond a decade now and to have her back for another season at the Club is terrific news.

“She is a terrific leader both on and off the pitch and I know our supporters can’t wait to see her back in action again.”
